The No. 8 PDVSA KV Racing Technology car of Viso made hard contact with the SAFER Barrier at the exit of Turn 1.

He was removed from the car and taken to the circuit's medical facility on a stretcher and then transported to Methodist Hospital for evaluation.

Viso was subsequently released at 11pm local time on Tuesday, suffering only from bruising. He expects to be back in the car very soon to resume testing.

Meanwhile, Scott Dixon (Ganassi) set the best time of the day (226.549 mph) ahead of Mario Moraes (KV Technology), Marco Andretti (Andretti Autosport) and Canadian Alexandre Tagliani (FAAZT).
