Kia treated Montreal to a Canadian Premiere of the all-new 2005 Sportage. It is essentially a re-badged Hyundai Tucson but with very different sheet metal. It can be delivered with a 140 hp 2.0L 4-cylinder or a 173 hp 2.7L V6. The Sportage can be had as either a front or an all-wheel drive vehicle. Its standard feature list includes ABS brakes, traction and stability control. The price range is between $19,995 and $29,500.
The 2005 Spectra5 was launched in September. Its 5-door configuration and revised bodylines make the car stand out from the regular Kia. Its best attributes are its good road holding abilities and interior versatility.
