Ingenium technology now available across the automaker’s lineup

The 2018 editions of the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque will each benefit from several significant upgrades, notable among them two new Ingenium gasoline engines that deliver improved performance, refinement and fuel economy.

The 2.0L 4-cylinder engines generate 237 and 286 hp, with torque of 251 lb-ft and 295 lb-ft, respectively, and are wedded to a 9-speed ZF automatic transmission. Each engine allows for towing up to 2,000 lbs with the Discovery Sport and up to 1,800 lbs for the Range Rover Evoque. Official fuel consumption ratings have not yet been announced.

Currently the fastest growing model in the Land Rover lineup, the 2018 edition will come in a revised palette of colours (12 available) and the option of choosing a contrasting roof. Inside, a Vintage Tan colour scheme will be offered, as with the new Discovery. All the seats have been revised to improve comfort, and the power adjustments include 4-way adjustable lumbar support.

When equipped with the more powerful of the two new engines, the 2018 Discovery Sport will feature larger air intakes to improve engine cooling in addition to enhancing the esthetic appeal.  The front grille and side vents will be in gloss black, matching the 20-inch wheels, and be offset by the red “Sport” badge. Other options will also be available for the interior.

The smallest SUV in the lineup has not been neglected either. In addition to the new engines, the Evoque will also come with a choice of 12 available colours, and optional new sport seats along with perforated leather upholstery. Here again, the model with the more powerful engine will sport an overall more-aggressive look and gloss black accents.

The 2018 model year will also see a new Landmark Edition join the lineup. It will come only with the 237-hp engine, a choice of three colours (including the exclusive Moraine Blue) and a contrasting Carpathian Grey roof, 19-inch Gloss Dark Grey wheels and a number of Graphite Atlas-coloured accents.
