As the No.1 Audi R18 e-tron quattro of Andre Lotterer-Marcel Fassler-Benoit Treluyer took the chequered flag at 3 pm on Sunday, Audi Sport today secured their 11th victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

It was also an historic moment for a number of reasons as it was the first win at the world’s most famous endurance race by a hybrid-powered car, it was on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the 24 Hours, and it was the first year that the famous endurance race featured as a round of the new FIA World Endurance Championship.

The No. 44 Startworks Motorsport HPD ARX 03a-Honda of Potolicchio/Dalziel/Kimber-Smith took honours in the LMP2 class, and 7th overall, 24 laps down to the winning Audi.
