The new MINI Hardtop 4 Door made its North American premiere at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Yes, it's the same car that originally debuted at the Paris Motor Show in September as the MINI 5 Door. No, it didn't lose a door while crossing the Atlantic.
The MINI Hardtop 4 Door offers seating for five and more cargo room than the regular Cooper while preserving its dynamic handling characteristics. Passengers also enjoy more room for their legs and shoulders.
“The new MINI Hardtop 4 Door gives us an opportunity to offer a functional car with all the classic MINI proportions and legendary go-kart handling of the MINI Hardtop 2 Door,” said Patrick McKenna, Head of MINI Product Planning and Events, MINI USA. “It will appeal to people who want the added flexibility and convenience of four doors and five seats while enjoying the smaller footprint of a premium small car.”
MINI also presented the Superleggera roadster concept at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. It combines the tradition of classic coachwork construction of Touring Superleggera with MINI’s authentic British styling to create timeless aesthetic appeal.
