While it might seem surreal that a radical (for conservative Mercedes-Benz) show car is to be made available for purchase, it's nothing new for its partner brand Chrysler Group. Possibly some of this American bravado is rubbing off on the otherwise staid automaker.
Much like the Vision SLR and SLK concepts, the CLS will receive minor changes to meet government crash standards and restrictions. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz is hard at work putting the final touches on the updated A-Class, SLK roadster, ML-Class and the GST - all to arrive on the market in the next two years.
Unfortunately Mercedes-Benz did not disclose a production or launch date for the CLS.
