Like with most of the other MINIs, available engines include the 134-hp, 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo as well as the 189-hp, 2.0L 4-cylinder and its turbo JCW variant (228 hp), and the available 6-speed automatic transmission is the alternative to the base manual, also a 6-speed.
The 2017 model year marks the debut of a new generation of the Countryman (although the JCW version is actually a 2018). While we haven’t had a go at it yet ourselves, we did do a detailed report on its design, another that explored its adventurous side, and we even had a quick look at the new 221-hp plug-in hybrid version that is expected on the Canadian market this coming June.
