The completely redesigned MINI Clubman will make its global debut on Tuesday at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show. The most recent model is the largest one of the new MINI generation. It is 27 centimetres longer and 9 centimetres wider than the MINI 5 door, and its wheelbase is 10 centimetres larger.

Many powertrain options… especially for Europe
European customers will have the full engine lineup to choose from including three gasoline and three diesel units. Here’s the list:

  • 2.0L 4-cylinder diesel rated at 190 PS (187 hp)
  • 2.0L 4-cylinder diesel rated at 150 PS (148 hp)
  • 1.5L 3-cylinder diesel rated at 116 PS (114 hp)
  • 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline rated at 192 PS (189 hp)
  • 1.5L 3-cylinder gasoline rated at 136 PS (134 hp)
  • 1.5L 3-cylinder gasoline rated at 102 PS (101 hp)

The new MINI Clubman will come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 4-cylinder engines can be optionally equipped with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission – a MINI first. A 6-speed Steptronic transmission of the latest generation is available for all other models.

Roomier and more user-friendly inside
The interior of the next-generation MINI Clubman offers more passenger room and cargo room. Its luggage compartment has a volume of 360 litres and can be extended to as much as 1,250 litres by folding down the 40/20/40-split rear seatback.

The central instrument cluster is integrated harmoniously in the dashboard. Fitted either with a two-colour 2.7” display or a 6.5” or 8.8” colour screen (depending on equipment features), it serves as a display for vehicle, infotainment, phone and navigation functions. Additionally, you’ll find a start/stop toggle switch, two cup holders in front of the shifter, and sport seats on certain trim levels. Options will include LED ambient lighting, power-adjustable front seats with memory for the driver, a panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone climate control.

Outside, the redesigned Clubman can be fitted with 16”-19” wheels, and features power-adjustable mirrors, the characteristic split doors at the rear, restyled horizontal taillights, and a selection of 12 body colours (four non-metallic and eight metallic finishes).

Canadian availability and pricing will be announced at a later date.
