Inside, the dash is again, modern and reminiscent of the Subaru Tribeca with swooping twin cockpits. The shifter is mounted high on the centre console.
The seats are leather, comfortable and have side armrests. Thanks to a pair of chairs riding shotgun at the rear, there's available seating for up to seven passengers. These rear seats can be folded flat into the floor for extra cargo space.
Our tester was powered by a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine hooked to a four-speed automatic (with manual shifting). Neither my partner nor I bothered with the auto-shift since we both found the transmission did a splendid job of shifting seamlessly on its own.
The power-assisted steering is precise, although a bit on the light side and the lack of telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel was a point of concern to my driving partner.
The Grandis rides on a suspension comprised of MacPherson struts up front and in behind, an independent multi-link setup designed to intrude as little as possible into the rear interior space.

The Colt name goes all the way back to the early 1960s when Mitsubishi, still a Heavy Industries Company only, released the Colt 600. Phased
out in the 1970s, the name resurfaced after the formation of Mitsubishi
Motors .
Mitsubishi released a new version of the Colt in 2003 based on the smart
forfour platform, after which, in 2004, came the longer, 5-door Colt
Plus. There are four engine choices -- 1.1-liter, 1.3-liter, 1.5-liter gas engines and a 1.5-liter diesel, and two transmissions: a 5-speed manual and 6-speed AllShift AMT auto manual.
