Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship Heads into Final Weekend
For the second consecutive season, Innisfil Indy will host the final round of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship presented
by Toronto Star Wheels. Of the nine classes this year, only one has been decided heading into the final round.
In the headline Formula Senior class, Daniel Morad holds a slim lead over long time rival Robert Wickens. These are the only two in the championship hunt in this class.
Marco Di Leo has a 94 point lead (with a possible 105 points up for grabs) over Eric Gerrits in Rotax Max. This should be enough unless Di Leo has a terrible weekend. Gerrits however will have to keep an eye on Devin Cunningham, as he is only 25 points behind Gerrits.
In World Formula, Adriano Billota, who is at his home
track this weekend, has a good lead over Corey Usher and Wilson TessariNeto, while in Canada Senior, Aaron de Heus leads Pearce Herder and Darryl Timmers.
One of the closest battles is in Formula Junior, where Kyle Marcelli has a two point lead over teammate Maxime Pelletier. Kenny Riedmann is third, some 51 points behind Marcelli.
In Rotax Junior, Michael Vincec leads Kevin Monteith by 160 points, which makes him the only driver to seal a championship before this weekend. Monteith will battle it out win Maxime Pelletier and Brad Forbes for second.
