North American Truck of the Year finalist: Chevrolet Silverado 1500
As hot as the SUV segments are these days, the light-duty pickup category is arguably where the most ferocious arms race is taking place. Fittingly, and not coincidentally, all three of the NACTOY finalists have just been completely revised.
GM’s Chevrolet Silverado has gotten a new design that has aroused debate among many truck lovers, but it’s clearly a heavyweight in a category peopled with several big shots. (Note that the segment’s top-selling pickup, the F-150, didn’t even make the final three here!).
Our reviewer Daniel Rufiange called it Chevy’s franchise player, and it’s hard to argue with that. The 2019 Silverado was a finalist in our Auto123.com awards in the Pickup of the Year category.
