Andrew Ranger took his Dodge to his second victory of the current NASCAR Canadian Tire Series' season at the Toronto Indy Saturday after his win at Mosport International Raceway.
For the two-time NASCAR Canadian Tire seeries’ champion, it was his 10th career series’ win and his seventh on a road course. Ranger also captured a pair road course wins in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series in the last month.
Jason Bowles, the 2009 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West champion finished second in the race, followed by points leader DJ Kennington.
Ranger captured pole position Friday and was out front during the entire race, spending most of the time fending off the challenges of JR Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick, however, got loose following the final restart and lost several positions to finish eighth.
The race was slowed due to cautions just three times for six laps.
Kennington's third place allows him to stretch his lead to 41 points over Fitzpatrick and to 82 over Kerry Micks.
The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series will return to the track Sunday, July 25 when it races the Canadian Tire 100 at Edmonton City Centre Airport, where a 1.973-mile temporary road course is set up in Edmonton, Alberta.
