Andretti Autosport driver, American Ryan Hunter-Reay made a last ditch effort at the end of the second practice session to finish the day on top the timesheets leading up to the Honda Indy in Toronto.

Once again, Dreyer & Reinbold’s Justin Wilson from Great Britain was one of the quickest driver of the day but, despite leading most of the time had to settle for second place at the end of the day.

Veteran Penske driver Helio Castroneves and his team mate and series’ point leader Will Power finished respectively third and fourth, just in front of Raphael Matos (De Ferran Dragon) who had a strong showing with fifth.

FAZZT Racing Hot Wheels’ man Alex Tagliani of Montreal, Quebec finished sixth but was among the fastest trio at the end of the first practice in the morning and much of the time in the second one.

Unfortunately, local hero Paul Tracy had his share of trouble in the afternoon, only being able to complete a mere eight laps before being stuck in the KV Technology pits.

During both practice sessions there were countless excursions into the run-off areas and some minor brushes with the concrte wall that surrounds the street circuit.

The only significant accident was the work of Hideki Mutoh (Newman-Haas), who lost control of his Dallara when powering out of Turn 1 only to spin into the Turn 2 wall, damaging the rear end of his car.
