Kurt Busch (Dodge Penske) and Jeff Burton (Chevrolet Childress) each won a Duel race Thursday in preparation for the opening round of the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup season, the Daytona 500.
Busch earned an extra bonus for his victory in the Duel. He'll lead the field to the green flag in Sunday's Daytona 500, because pole winner Dale Earnhardt Jr. wrecked during Wednesday's practice went to a backup car and must start NASCAR's most important race from the rear of the field.
Bill Elliott and J.J. Yeley transferred to the Daytona 500 from the first Duel, joining Michael Waltrip and Brian Keselowski in Sunday's race.
Joe Nemechek, Travis Kvapil and Dave Blaney also made the field as the fastest three cars in time trials not otherwise qualified. Terry Labonte will start the race on a past champion's provisional.
