It's with patience that Scott Steckly ( Dodge No 22) won the A&W 300 NASCAR Canadian Tire race held at the 1/3-mile Barrie Speedway Saturday evening.

It was Steckley's third win dating back to last year's finale.

Don Thomson Jr (Chevy No 4) came in second while D.J. Kennington (Dodge No 17) grabbed third spot after leaving his Nationwide ride to car owner Randy McDonald at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway (he finished 26th).

Derek Lynch and Brad Graham, both on Dodge, finished 4th and 5th while open-wheel veterans Andrew Ranger (Ford No 27) and Alexander Tagliani (Ford No 7) finished 6th and 7th.

There were 10 caution flags for 74 laps and 13 lead changes between 7 drivers during the race which involved 21 cars.

Steckly still leads the championship followed by Thomson and Lynch.
