The 2019 Z4 will come equipped with standard sport steering; according to BMW it is designed to ensure not just straight-line stability, but also provide precise feedback during cornering and improved low-speed maneuvering.
The chassis technology in the new BMW Z4 Roadster has been developed to deliver the best possible agility and handling dynamics, thanks to a newly designed double-joint spring strut suspension at the front and a new five-link suspension in the rear, a first for a BMW Roadster.
Some of the systems included in the Z4 to maximize safety and enhance performance include lightweight braking and dynamic stability control, which incorporates anti-lock braking system, dynamic traction control, cornering brake control and dynamic brake control.
M Performance model drivetrain
BMW is including Adaptive M Sport suspension, M Sport brakes and M Sport differential features as standard stuff on the Z4 M40i, and optional equipment on the Z4 sDrive30i. These systems heighten the difference the driver will feel between the COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT+ drive modes
The standard 18-inch light-alloy wheels and optional 19-inch items are fitted with mixed-size tires. The wider rear tires’ increased potential for directional control was factored into the chassis tuning for all variants of the all-new Z4 Roadster.

Drive assist systems
The drive assist systems available for the Z4 Roadster include active cruise control with stop & go function, the lane change and lane departure warning systems, and a parking assistant including back-up assistant. The new BMW z4 is also the first roadster to be made available with an optional head-up display.
The interior
The new BMW Z4 comes standard with electric sports seats featuring integral headrests. The optional M sports seats include electro-pneumatic backrest width adjustment to optimize lateral support through high-speed corners.
The cockpit design of the 2019 Z4 is unsurprisingly driver-focused. The start/stop button is now on the control panel on the centre console, which also welcomes the gear selector, iDrive Controller, Driving Experience Control switch, the Electric Parking Brake and the switch for the electrically operated soft-top roof. The dual-zone automatic climate control is an option, as are Automatically dimming and folding exterior mirrors.
The standard 10-speaker audio system (205 watts) can be switched out for a premium 646-watt, 12-speaker harmon/kardon surround sound system complete with digital amp.
Not that you’ll be lugging much of anything around in your new Z4, but BMW does claim that the trunk offers 50% more space than before; it’s now up to a whopping 281 litres.
