Nissan announced it would be pulling the cube off the European market. Due to the strength of the yen, exporting the little box on wheels is no longer profitable for the Japanese automaker.
Once European dealerships have liquidated their stock, they’ll stop selling the cube altogether. For the moment, buyers don’t have to worry about the fate of other Nissan models like the GT-R and Murano, though, as they should still be available.
Nissan also mentioned that if the exchange rate became more favourable still, it would be unlikely that the cube would ever make a comeback in Europe, though it will remain a possibility.
To date, no official decision has been made about the model’s future in Canada and the US. As of December 2010, 2,492 units had been sold in Canada.
