The iconic Porsche 911 will mark its 50th anniversary with a memorable “Central Feature” display at the 2013 Festival of Speed in Goodwood, England (July 11-14). Incidentally, the event will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Since its debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Auto Show, fans all over the world have raved about the Porsche. More than 820,000 units have been sold during these five decades, and visitors in Goodwood will be able to admire samples from each of the seven generations.
The automaker is also sending a 1967 Porsche 911 to Goodwood as part of a world tour. Over the course of the year, this classic car will travel to five continents. In addition to the UK, it will visit California, China, France, and Australia.
Elsewhere, the Porsche Museum will be marking “50 years of the Porsche 911” with a special exhibition from June 4th to September 29th.
