The Boxster is already one of the most practical vehicles in the roadster class, with commodious trunk room up front, and another deep well behind the engine in the rear. The Cayman will add even more room, thanks to its rear liftgate and associated increase in cargo area.
It is expected that Porsche will introduce a Cayman without the S designation to be sold alongside the higher powered version that will be shown in Geneva. The entry-level model, priced for those that don't have a numbered bank account in the Caymans, will be Porsche's least expensive vehicle, and most likely sport a 240-horsepower engine just like the current base Boxster.
The new Cayman will appear later this year as a 2006 model.
