At highway speeds, the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels (though to a lesser degree) and so they cooperate more and there's less pulling at the rear end, which is especially good when there's a trailer back there.
Off-roading with Quadrasteer™ is apparently a whole other experience altogether and the subject of a further test-drive program, so dirt-spewers should stay tuned.
But anyone who's thinking of buying a pickup truck in the next year needs to know that Delphi's Quadrasteer™ system has changed the rules on the pickup experience forever. It delivers such a huge improvement in ride and handling that a pickup without it will seem like an antique next to it.
Quadrasteer™ will be exclusive to GMC for a year, and then it (and possibly some competitive systems) will start turning up on other vehicles from GM and other manufacturers. In five years, it will hard to imagine why anyone would want a large pickup or SUV without it.
But that's five years from now. Today, the future is exclusive to the GMC Sierra Denali.
