Antoine L’Estage and co-driver Nathalie Richard, driving a Mitsibushi Lancer Evo X, won the second round of the American Rally Championship, the 100 Acre Wood Rally, in Salem, Missouri, on Saturday.
Starting in second place, L’Estage took the lead of the rally after the first stage and never had to look back. In fact, the top-3 remained unchanged after the second stage.
David Higgins and his co-driver Craig Drew settled in second position after the renunciation of Travis Pastrana, the popular X-Games gold medalist.
Higgins and Drew’s Subaru Impreza WRX STi finished ahead of yet another Impreza WRX STi, that of Dave Mirra and co-driver Marshall Clarke who also settled in their position by the end of stage 2.
Another Subaru took the fourth place finish. Travis and Terry Hanson took the position on the 8th stage of the race after an accident took out Ramana Lagemann and Christine Beavis.
One had to wait until the fifth place finisher to find another Mitsubishi, the EVO 8.5 MR of Heath Nunnemacher and Mike Rossey, who completed the top-5 from the 11th stage up until the 16th and last stage of the rally.
