If you love stylish designs, you're in for a treat

In a move reminiscent of its launch of the original Range Rover at the Louvre Museum in Paris back in the early 1970s, Land Rover chose the all-new home of London’s Design Museum as the setting for the world premiere of the fourth member of the Range Rover family.

Expected on the Canadian market later in 2017, the brand new Range Rover Velar is a sleek and stylish luxury SUV that slots into the automaker’s lineup between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport, and is aiming to take on the likes of the BMW X6. A refined beast no matter the setting or terrain it is placed in, the Velar is a glamourous vehicle through and through, built to excite the emotions – something that’s clear even from just looking at its distinctive matrix-laser LED headlights.

The name of the Velar comes from “to veil”, a moniker that actually dates back to the very first Range Rover prototypes the company fashioned back in 1969, when it sought to keep details of the new model under wraps. The new model was designed from a blank-sheet starting point, and features Jaguar Land Rover’s lightweight aluminum architecture and sustainable materials. Inside, it offers occupants two 10-inch touchscreen displays and an all-new, cutting-edge infotainment system dubbed Touch Pro Duo.

The engine choices that will be included in the Canadian models have yet to be confirmed, but one of them is sure to be a 3.0L supercharged V6. We will of course be keeping you updated in developments in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, enjoy these gorgeous videos of the new Velar…
