Certain vehicles may develop increased electrical resistance in the intermediate connector for the seat-mounted side airbags. As a result, the airbags may not function as intended, causing the instrument panel warning lamp to illuminate.

Failure of the side airbags to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant.

Correction: Dealers will change the mounting location of both side airbag intermediate connectors and add epoxy to prevent movement inside the connectors.

On certain vehicles, the headlamp assemblies may not have been secured correctly during vehicle assembly. As a result, the headlamps could loosen and detach from the vehicle, which could compromise the driver's ability to see the road and its users.

In addition, the errant headlamp module could strike a vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury.

Correction: Dealers will replace the headlamp locking components.

On certain vehicles, the fuel pressure sensor connected to the engine fuel delivery rail may not have been sufficiently tightened during vehicle assembly. Should the pressure sensor loosen, fuel could leak past a gasket used in the connection between the sensor and rail.

Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury.

Correction: Dealers will inspect for fuel leakage from the pressure sensor and the fuel rail. If there are no signs of a fuel leak, the fuel pressure sensor will be tightened to specifications. If a fuel leak is confirmed, the gasket between the sensor and the fuel delivery rail will be replaced, and the sensor will be tightened.

On certain vehicles, the wire harness under the driver and/or passenger seat may not have been properly affixed to the seat frame during vehicle assembly. As such, the harness may get caught by the amplifier (mounted under the seat) when seating position is adjusted.

If this occurs, the harness connector may detach from the socket and, as a result, the corresponding airbag may not function as intended, causing the instrument panel SRS warning lamp to illuminate. Failure of a frontal airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant.

Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, secure the wire harness to the driver and/or passenger seat frame.

On certain vehicles, when driving at low speeds or idling on a downward grade, with ¼ tank or less of fuel, an error in the fuel pump control program may restrict fuel supply to the engine, which could cause the engine to stall.

Engine stalling would result in lost vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.

Correction: Dealers will reprogram the Engine Control Module.
