Recognizing the limitations of enforcement in dealing with the carnage and loss of young lives attributable to street racing, the police and public collaborated on a program intended to gain voluntary compliance through education and opportunity. Arising from this alliance is the P.A.C.E.R. (Police and Community Educating Racers) Program. However the Pacer program is not an arm of the police. It is an independent entity whose main mission is to save lives by eliminating street racing and dangerous driving. Initially formed in Toronto, Pacer is taking to the streets of Canadian cities coast to coast. It's a non-profit society with Honda Canada as its major corporate contributor.

It has not been lost on Honda Canada that several of their vehicles are the most popular among street racers. Honda Canada recognizes this issue and has stepped up to the plate by generously supporting the Pacer program.

The concept of Pacer is simple. If you want to be accepted by the street racers, you have to fit in and earn their respect. No, that doesn't mean hitting the streets and challenging for pink slips. Rather it means forming a connection with the racers and/or sport car enthusiasts.

Pacer forms that connection with its showstopper Pacer cars. These vehicles, currently supplied by Honda Canada, have been legally modified to enhance their performance. They also sport awesome airbrushed paintjobs and full police light and siren packages. The exterior theme is that of a police car morphing into a racer. The Pacer vehicle is the ticket into the world of sports car enthusiasts. It is the conduit that enables and encourages dialogue between racers and enforcers.
