Through extensive public education, driving while impaired has been transformed into a humiliating, socially unacceptable event. Education against drinking and driving focused primarily on adolescents and young adults. School programs and accident recreations made it very "uncool" to drink and drive.

These attitudes are being carried into adult life and we have seen a remarkable reduction in the incidence of impaired driving. The same stigma must eventually apply to street racing and dangerous driving. I believe we can get there. Programs such as Pacer are in the driver's seat of this evolution.
