Saab will be presenting a new concept car at the 2008 Mondial de l'Automobile de Paris, the 9-X Air BioHybrid.
The concept was developed alongside the 9-X BioHybrid presented at the Geneva show last March, borrowing its design and drive train.
The 9-X Air BioHybrid will sport a 1.4-litre, one-cylinder, turbocharged engine using biofuel and combined with an electric engine. The twosome produces 200 hp, enabling the concept to make the 0-100 dash in 8.1 seconds.
The 9-X Air BioHybrid's unique feature is its soft retractable top. At the touch of a button, it folds into three small sections and disappears into the trunk.
Saab's engineers have created a unique passenger compartment surrounded by a large wall of glass that neutralizes turbulence inside. Saab says the concept will easily accommodate four passengers, top down.
