Mitsubishi is the import company to watch for 2007, with its introduction of several new and highly anticipated models. One of the most important is the
new Lancer- a compact sport sedan which will serve to carry the brands fun to drive factor and attitude forward to an increasingly competitive and globalized market.
The Lancer makes its global premier at the NAIAS, and the Prototype X performance car will go on stage right beside it, Mitsubishi announced. The Prototype X is a concept for a next-generation high-performance sedan from Mitsubishi and features all wheel drive, a turbocharged engine and Super All Wheel Control (SAWC), which manipulates vehicle dynamics for the ultimate in traction and handling.
Looks like it's coming to our shores too- so rival Subaru might have something to worry about. Judging by the sketch, none of which looks overly unreasonable for a production model, the WRX might need some serious plastic surgery to match the looks. The concept picture showcases a tri-scoop hood, large wheels and dual exhaust with splitter.
Other Mitsubishi models like the Raider and Outlander await fans when the show opens it's doors on January 13th.
