Conor Daly has won a first Star Mazda Series’ title in Mosport, the 11th of 12th Round in the series’ 2010 Championship.

Daly, who started from the pole position, set a new record of seven wins and nine poles in one season in Mosport. He finished all races but one (4th) so far on the podium which gave him a significant advance on closest title contender Anders Krohn, who finished every race in the top-five.

Although he only needed to start the race to be declared champion, the young driver from Indianapolis went for nothing but the win in Ontario. He led every lap of the race to cross the finish line 0.764 seconds ahead of Jorge Goncalvez, second.

Another Con(n)or completed the podium of this second to last race of the season. Connor De Phillippi started from sixth place to round-up the top-three in Mosport.
Frenchmen Tristan Vautier rounded-up the top-five with Krohn in fifth place. Quebecker Mikael Grenier finished in sixth after starting from fourth.

The Master Series Championship was also decided in Mosport. Although Gerry Kraut won the race, Carlos Conde only needed to take the start to win the title. Conde’s teammate and owner J.W. Roberts had already won the Expert Series Championship before the Canadian round.

There is one race left in 2010. It will be held in Road Atlanta on October 1st. The American Le Mans Series will be on the agenda as well as the Star Mazda Series’ finale.
