Since the beginning, these two have been at each other's throats. Now it seems their relationship has reached its breaking point. Suzuki claims VW is trying to poach its autonomy, while VW is complaining that Suzuki isn't playing nice and is unwilling to share technology despite the 20% stake VW holds in its Asian associate.
When the two entered into this partnership, Suzuki understood that the two would remain their own independent entities. So, Suzuki now feels it has to return to square one, go back to the beginning and really take a closer look at the ownership ratio between the two and reassess the partnership as a whole.
Despite the squabbles, VW claims that there are plans for consolidation in the future.
