The changes should boost sales even higher of the Model 3, which accounted 80% of the company’s sales in Q2 2019

Tesla is simplifying its product offering to make life easier for its customers, and with it comes some price changes. Most notable is a lower price point for the Model 3, and the disappearance of entry-level versions of the Model S and Model X.

For the letter two models, the change means starting prices for the U.S. market are now set $79,990 and  $84,990 USD, respectively. However, to the delight of many buyers, the Ludicrous mode and its exceptional accelerations will now be included standard on the Performance version. Up to now that feature, which enables 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2.5 seconds, as an option costing an extra $20,000

The other version that remains in the catalogue is the extended-range model, making the choice facing consumers one based on taste and priorities. More range or more power…

As for the Model 3, it’s default colour now becomes pearl white, and it comes with a new base price of $38,990 USD. The car is Tesla’s best-selling model by a country mile: in Q2 of 2019, it accounted for 80% of the company’s sales.

The reworked product offering should help Tesla maintain its momentum; the company delivered 95,000 vehicles in the second quarter of the current year.
