Honors that matter
After the Mazda3 was chosen as the 2004 Canadian Car of the Year, Maritz did a survey among Canadian buyers who had purchased the compact car. Half of them said they knew that the Mazda3 had been acclaimed as the Canadian Car of the Year.
Two buyers out of three even mentioned that their purchase decision had been influenced by the AJAC award.
It's no surprise then that automakers are making extra efforts to participate in the Test Fest. For instance, GM had to buy at the last minute three Pontiac Waves from one of its own dealers because the vehicles it was expecting from Korea did not make it across the Pacific Ocean in time!
