The Pontiac Rally set up by General Motors of Canada will no doubt prove to be a huge success. The Laval event, held last Saturday at the Centre de la nature, was the fifth in a series of six. The final rally will take place tomorrow, September 1st, in Montreal. The previous stops were in Quebec City (July 28), Chicoutimi (August 4), Magog (August 11) and Chambly (August 18).
As was the case in every other city, the Laval rally had 360 participants split into 60 teams. The program included a series of physical and mental challenges.
At the end of the day, the organizers crowned two winners: Mathieu Bannon, who completed the rally in the morning, and Sébastien Giroux, who took part in the afternoon rally. Both received a $1,000 prize.
For the final event in Montreal, a draw will be held among all the teams that entered the different rallies over the summer. The winning team will be $10,000 richer.
