7- Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Keen to respond to the new RAM 2500, unveiled with great fanfare at the Detroit auto show, Chevrolet rolled out its big, beefy Silverado in Chicago. This generation is entirely new both style-wise and mechanically. What’s more, all versions are double-wheeled in back.

The base engine is a 6.6L V8 with direct injection producing 401 hp; the other choice is also a 6.6L V8, but that one runs on diesel and delivers 910 lb-ft of torque working with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission.
