2018 Nissan Kicks
Hot on the heels of the announcement that the Juke is to disappear after this year, Nissan brought the Kicks compact crossover to LA, although “compact hatch” could very well be an equally-acceptable descriptor. There’s no AWD available, but you do get a higher ride height as well as more room than you did in the Juke. A single 1.6L 4-cylinder engine is available (as well as a single CVT transmission choice), but it’s good for 125 hp and 115 lb-ft of torque, right in the thick of things in the segment. We may bemoan the lack of an AWD option, but know that one of the Kicks’ closest competitors – the Toyota C-HR – also has to go without AWD in North America yet is becoming more and more present on our roads nevertheless. Also like the C-HR, the Kicks comes with a whole host of features as standard, including 7-inch infotainment screen, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning and seven airbags, as well as available blind-spot warning system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and rear cross-traffic alert. More details on the Kicks.
