6. Hyundai Accent
Since the first generation of the Accent debuted in 1995, Hyundai has consistently made improvements to the subcompact, to the point where it is a standard-setter in the category. This ability to find ways to improve its products over the years is in fact a strong point and a trademark of the Korean manufacturer. In 2017, its fuel consumption figures are remarkable, its styling is modern and its road handling is surprisingly impressive given its money-saving mandate.
