The GTI is proof of many things: 500 hp are not necessary to claim performance, that spending $100k is not a prerequisite to fun and spanking others on a track and that a hatchback is still a hot commodity. For a meagre $30k, respect and good times are guaranteed. Few affordable cars in this world are as endearing as the GTI and yes, everyone wants one.
