As car fanatics, it is next to impossible to ignore the culture of the Hot Rod. Nearly 85 years old, this movement is one that will likely never end; as long as there are ways to make cars go faster, it will exist.

As technology moves forward, hot rodding cars is becoming a cleaner hobby what with plug-and-play ways to get more power out of engines. Many still drop large engines into small-ish cars, but the art of exaggeration is slowly disappearing.

Modern Hot Rods are mostly of the restomod type where old cars maintain their original overall look but receive a number of important upgrades, typically to the suspension and brakes. Engines may also get modern ignition systems or more.

This list contains some hot rods built by some of the most famous hot rodders of the modern era, including some older ones that cannot be ignored.
