Older drivers will remember a time not so long ago when cars might dance on the road when conditions were conducive to sliding. Snowstorms caused a lot of vehicles to skid off the road, simply because it was far easier to lose control of them.
Today, modern vehicles sold on the market are equipped with stability control systems. These systems kick in when you start to lose control and work to put you back on the right track. Again, the number of accidents avoided by this technology will never be known, but we know that it is enormous.
