7 – Luxury compact SUVs: Porsche Macan

Porsche’s Macan remains an odd creature within its segment. For one thing, I’d say it outdoes the BMW duo and actually does drive like a car. If cost is no issue for you, you can also personalize it to within an inch of its life, and end up with a totally unique vehicle. But if there are limits to how much you’ll fork over for an emotional buy, there are more “reasonable” alternatives out there in the segment, with performances that are just as exalting. The heart leads, but sometimes the pocketbook intervenes.
