The Porsche Cayenne would have been an entirely honorable choice in this category; certainly it is a dominant player among the mid-size boys. But it gets nipped by the almost fully new X5, which works it charm on you form the moment you climb in. BMW’s middle child utility model may, in fact, be the one model that could win over the most stubborn SUV hater out there.
