7th place: 2023 Nissan Kicks S $20,998 + $1,855 in fees
Nissan's most affordable crossover, that is if you even want to accept to consider it as an SUV (and we do), climbs to seventh place in 2023, up four spots from last year.
Unlike some other regulars on this list, Kia’s small urban vehicle has never been offered with a manual transmission, so its pricing hasn't risen dramatically for 2023. Base price sits just under the $21,000 mark.
Cynics might insist on pointing out that this is essentially a Versa Note beneath the crossover's shell, and that's partly true. But Nissan is hardly the only brand to push the SUV angle in response to consumers’ wishes, now is it.
