Ford Pinto
The Ford Pinto was manufactured and marketed by Ford in North America from 1971 to 1980. The Pinto was the first subcompact vehicle produced by Ford on the continent.
The Pinto was marketed in three body styles throughout its production: a two-door fastback sedan with a trunk, a three-door hatchback and a two-door wagon. More than three million Pinto's were produced during its ten-year run, surpassing the combined totals of its domestic rivals, the Chevrolet Vega and AMC Gremlin.
