2022 Toyota Corolla GR

The rumour has been around for a few years now, but it seems like it's finally time for Toyota to add a little adrenaline to its Corolla lineup.
While we know for certain that the Yaris GR introduced earlier this year is a strictly European affair (our North American Yaris is a Mazda2 in disguise), the Corolla could benefit from the Yaris GR's turbocharged 3-cylinder engine. With 257 hp to play with, a Corolla GR equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox - and everything needed to keep up on the road - could poach a few sales off the Golf GTI, for instance.

2021 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing

When GM announced the end of production of the big CT6 sedan last year, many wondered about the fate of the new twin-turbo V8 engine, also known as the Blackwing. It seems that the 5.5L unit isn't compatible with the new CT5 sedan, and Car and Driver claims that this Blackwing variant will be powered by the trusty old 6.2L supercharged V8 previously used on the CTS.
Better yet, the publication claims that the car will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic unit. Forget the confusion caused by the nomenclature, the 2021 CT5-V Blackwing is sure to be a 650-hp on-track bombshell!
