Truth be told, the Swedish manufacturer was going nowhere just a few years ago. It's been quite a turnaround for Volvo, which has not only reduced the number of cylinders available under the hoods of its models, but is also pushing hard for the electrification of its fleet.
With the arrival of the very first electric vehicle in the brand's history, the XC40 P8 Recharge, Volvo shows the seriousness of its intent in the field. The crossover, which is scheduled to arrive in the fall, as a 2021 model.
The expected range for the high-performance 408-hp SUV is expected to hover around 320 km.
