There’s another small pickup truck coming our way, and it’ll be here within a year at most. In fact, Ford has already begun production of the Maverick, a compact pickup for folks who don't need or want the size of a Ford Ranger or the larger F-150.

This new truck will likely share its platform with the Ford Escape and Ford Bronco Sport. As well, the mechanics of those two SUV models will be the powertrains of choice of this SUV-with-a-bed. Yes, like its Ford SUV mates, the Maverick will be a unibody vehicle, unlike the Ranger and the F-Series.
