2019 Toyota Avalon
Yet another model that has gotten safer for 2019, according to the IIHS. The large sedan from Toyota was given a Top Safety Pick in its 2018 iteration, but beats that for the new year.
As is the case with the 2019 Pilot, the 2019 edition of Toyota’s big sedan scored Acceptable on the passenger-side small overlap crash test, while garnering a Good rating everywhere else, and a Superior score for Crash Avoidance and Mitigation – a sign that the latest generation of cars and SUVs, especially higher up the price scale, are extremely well-equipped with advanced safety and drive assist systems to help collisions from happening at all.
