2 - Toyota Corolla Hybrid
With the Corolla Hybrid, you can forget about any kind of fun behind the wheel. Instead, the joy comes whenever you check your fuel consumption totals. When the Corolla’s electrically assisted model first launched in 2019, I drove it and recorded an average 4.5L/100 km under optimal conditions.
This time, I figured to really put it to the test. Last winter, with temps hovering around -10 celcius during my test week, I still managed to put up an average of 4.6L/100 km. Frankly outstanding. For anyone looking for a car that offers excellent value for money, coupled with fuel economy that will save you a pile at the pump, this model is a short-lister for sure.
