When the German automaker began developing the next edition of its three-row SUV, it clearly had North America as its target. The magazine was especially seduced by the affordable pricing of the SUV in its most accessible version.

The model change for 2020 has done the Highlander a world of good; the outgoing edition had been in service since 2014 and was starting to show its age. While Parents magazine praised the new design, it especially found substantial improvements in terms of handling, especially the suspension. Also noteworthy is the availability of a hybrid version, which is really not common in this group.
