Nissan presents its flagship GT-R at the Toronto Auto Show
The company's new supercar will be on sale this summer, and promises a level of performance that rivals beasts such as the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and Porsche 911 Turbo.
The 2009 GT-R will be powered by a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 that develops 480 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox with wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Nissan claims 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprints of 3.6 seconds.
Other mechanical highlights include all-wheel drive, 20-inch wheels and a host of electronic driving aids. The four-passenger GT-R also gets numerous comfort and convenience features, such as a navigation system, an audio system with hard disc drive and 11 speakers, and Bluetooth cell phone connectivity.
