A lot of time has passed since we first clapped eyes on the FT-86, that product of a Toyota/Subaru partnership. Two concept versions and several months later, we’ve finally got something with a little meat on it, a video that shows what the rear-wheel-drive machine is capable of on the famous Nürburgring track.
Judging by the images, this is going to be a true sportscar, but will the 2.0-litre, direct injection Boxer, six-speed transmission and limited slip differential make for a worthy successor to the now defunct AE-86?
One thing’s for sure, we can’t wait to get our mitts on this Toyobaru and test its mettle.
